The City of Saline owns and maintains several different public infrastructure, including the sanitary sewer collection system, water main distribution system, a water treatment plant, a wastewater treatment plant, roads, sidewalks, pathways, parks, traffic signals, signs and crosswalks. The City Engineer develops policies, procedures, and engineering standards for the City’s public infrastructure, including overseeing completion of capital projects. They also develop and enforce engineering standards for private developments and provide opinions of costs for city wide planning and budgeting purposes.

Construction Project Updates page.Design Standards can be found below. Engineering design standards are used for public infrastructure improvements and new development. Our current standards were developed in 1994 and have had various updates over the years, the most recent being the 2018 standard details for water main and sanitary sewer. The City is currently in the process of developing and adopting updated engineering standards.
