Architectural Description: This two-and-one-half story house is attributed to the Gothic Revival style, mainly because of its pointed arch window on the front gable. The roof is steeply pitched and has wide eaves. The first story exterior has probably been greatly changed over the last several decades. There are two smaller additions on the rear of the house. The first addition is two stories high and the second addition is one story, and is of modern construction.

History: This house was built ca.1870 by W.A. Benedict (Study Committee Report). There is a house similar in shape on the 1872 Bird’s Eye View of Saline. The 1874 Combination Atlas Map of Washtenaw County shows the name Benedict and the 1895 Plat Map shows the name E. Elsasser. According to the Kosky and Glynn Survey, early twentieth century owners included Adam Klump (1916-1920), Lorenzo Tanner (1926) and Delbert Tanner (1941).
