Architectural Description: This is a two-and-one-half story house that has been completely modified from the gable front and wing Folk Victorian house as documented on the 1994 survey. Shown in the survey photo, there was a two-story addition on the façade that has since been removed and replaced with a gable front, partial width two-story addition. The one-story addition on the rear has also been modified, to two stories. The roof and entry porch have changed entirely. The roofline has been altered to include a raised hipped section with a half-moon shaped skylight. A partial-width front porch, wrapping around to the south elevation of the house has also been added. A gable front portico with a sunburst detail has been placed over the entrance. The porch contains wood supports, balustrade, and railings.

History: This house seems to appear on the 1872 Bird’s Eye View of Saline. Major Wallace, a street commissioner and farmer, is listed on Ann Arbor Street in the 1894 city directory. Sisters Wealthy and Lottie Wallace were living here through 1930. The 1930 U.S. Census lists Wealthy as a saleswoman at a dry goods store and Lottie as a laborer in a handle factory. Lottie remained in the house until 1941. Major Wallace was probably the father of Wealthy and Lottie (Kosky & Glynn).
