This house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as part of the North Ann Arbor Street District.

Architectural Description: This is a two-story, gabled ell, Folk Victorian style house. The wrap around porch contains Ionic columns resting on formed concrete piers and a long, curving balustrade. There is a modern picture window on the west-facing façade. Most of the other windows are four lights over four and one light over one. A new window has been added in the upper front gable since the 1994 Survey.

History: This house was built in ca. 1870. It appears on the 1888 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map. Emanuel and Julia Layher lived in this house with their five children from approximately 1910-1926. Emanuel was a section foreman for the railroad and several of his sons were section heads in 1916 (Kosky & Glynn).
