Architectural Description: This is a two-and-one-half story, gable-front Folk House with a stone foundation and wood siding. There are wood shingles and small square windows in the front and rear gables. These small square windows repeat on the north and south dormer gables. According to the Study Committee Report, the original front porch was removed in 1988 and replaced with a small shed-roof stoop. In 2004, ten years after the survey photo, the full width porch with turned posts was reinstated.

History: This house was built between 1893-1899. According to the 1994 Kosky and Glynn Survey, Mrs. A. Davidson owned the property and probably built the house, although she isn’t listed in the city directories during that time period. A.M. Hunt owned the house in 1915, according to the 1915 Atlas. Charles Carven was the owner in 1931, and upon his death, his daughter Bessie Collins became the owner. Charles Carven had also owned 204 and 208 South Ann Arbor, as well as several other properties in Saline. The 1899 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map of Saline shows the house with its previous address: 360. On the 1899 map, it is shown as a one-and-one-half story dwelling with a square shaped footprint and a small one-story addition in the rear. By 1921, the address had changed to 206 and the Sanborn Map indicates the house as being two stories in height, with a rectangular footprint and a one-story porch at the rear.
