Architectural Description: This is a gable front and wing Folk Victorian style house. A small porch with decorative spindlework joins the older gable section with the north addition, which was completed shortly after the 1994 survey. The gable section has a stone foundation and the addition has a wood foundation. The house is vinyl sided with modern windows.

History: The exact date of the construction of the original section of the house has yet to be determined. Charles Burkhart probably built the house in ca. 1878. Mr. Burkhart operated a dry goods store with Edgar A. Adrich on West Chicago Rd. (now Michigan Ave). Additional early occupants included Thomas and Caroline Ross (1910-1920) and Chauncey Fitzgerald (1926-1935) (Kosky & Glynn).
