Architectural Description: This is a two-and-one-half story, vernacular, Queen Anne style house on a stone foundation. The hipped roof has crossed gables, which contain a pair of small square windows. The first story windows on the south-facing façade and east elevation contain two sections: a large, lower single pane of glass and a narrow, horizontal pane above. The remainder of the windows are one light over one. The partial wrap-around porch on the southeast corner of the first story is enclosed. The rear of the house (facing north) has an addition on the west elevation. There is a side entryway on the east elevation with a stoop porch and hood roof above the door. An attached one-story garage with a flat roof is also on the east elevation.

History: Fred Burkhardt lived in this house from 1910-1935. Mr. Burkhardt worked in the family business, Burkhardt Brothers (dry goods, grocery, crockery, boots and shoes) on West Chicago Road (now West Michigan Ave). His daughter, Jean Burkhardt, owned the house in 1941, followed by Henry and Martha Leutheuser in 1947 (Kosky & Glynn).
