Architectural Description: This is a two-story, gable front and wing Folk House that is currently being rented as apartments. The front porch on the wing section has a solid brick balustrade and square wood supports. Shutters flank the front windows. There are additions to the rear of the house and a two-and-one-half story, side-gabled, wood barn (ca. 1872) that is currently being used as a garage.

History: Past research indicates this house was built prior to 1872, as it seems to have appeared on the 1872 Bird’s Eye View of Saline (Kosky and Glynn). Known early occupancy includes Michael and Sarah Burkhardt, who lived here until 1894. Sarah remained after Michael’s death until 1916. The Burkhardts’ son, Christopher, lived in the house until 1935 (Kosky & Glynn).
