Architectural Description: This is a one-and-one-half story, side-gabled, vernacular, Tudor Revival style house. It has a steeply pitched roof with a shed roof dormer. The window configuration in the dormer has been modified since the 1994 Survey, from three ribbon windows to a pair of one over one, double-hung windows. The front picture window and the full width front porch have been added since the 1994 Kosky and Glynn Survey.

History: Erwin Schmid and his wife Nona built this house in 1941. In 1948, the Schmids purchased the Orange Risdon house when it was under the threat of demolition, relocated it to 210 West Henry St., and remodeled the Risdon house into separate apartments (Saline Observer, July 22, 1948).
Mr. Schmid was the owner and operator of Schmid’s Meat Market, a successful family-run business for many years in the Saline community.
